A great little reception was held in Chineham last Friday, generously hosted by the Hampshire Court Hotel. It was to hand out the £1750 raised at the Basingstoke Festival of Arts and Crafts last October.
The benefiting charities were the Ark Cancer Charity, Basingstoke Young Carers and Basingstoke Diai-a-Ride.
Chansopha and I launched the festival during our year in the mayoralty. It has continued because the participants at the first event wanted to continue with a borough-wide festival bringing a broad spectrum of creative talents together.
